Give me one thing you threw away. I will put it back where you can see it.
You can delete it. It will come back. It only stops when you can say why you kept it.

Give it back to me
A name, a song, a photograph, a person, a sentence someone said. One thing.
Where should it live?
It needs a real place on your disk. Pick a folder you look at often: Desktop, Documents, Downloads.
Nothing leaves your machine. There is no server, no account, no network call in this file.
It is on your disk
still-here.txt
It has come back times
Deleting it does not work. I am not going to pretend it does.
Answer once and it stops: why do you keep it? The answer gets written into the file itself,
under your name, with today's date. Then it is not a haunting any more. It is a record.
Kept.
You said why. That is the whole difference between hoarding and keeping.
still-here.txt
One HTML file. No network, no dependencies, no account. Files are written with the
File System Access API where the browser supports it, and by plain download where it does not.
Everything you type stays on your machine.
